Week 8 Update!

Yes it is week 8 of the Fall Term.The Fall/Winter begins on November 12.

For my students out there with birthdays this month..." Happy Birthday" I remember because mine is tomorrow.....I am hoping for a new year ( as Halloween is the old Celtic New Year and time of passing) filled with resolution and progress towards all our goals ....

Parade practices are in full swing and I am sorting through scheduling for my Nutcracker Express.

There are several dance events upcoming.... Atlantic Ballet Theatre performs at the Arts and Culture Centre , Thursday November 1.The National Ballet School is having their annual auditions the first week of November with Open Classes on November 6 ( at The School of Dance) The Cecchetti Society of Canada is holding a workshop on the upcoming November 11 long week end . Finally the preliminary info is out on the Cecchetti International Conference , Summer School and Competition in Calgary this Summer.This is a huge event the first time held in Canada. For info check with me or your other teachers and schools.

All classes continue this week as posted. The Wednesday Class is.... yes going ahead at The School of Dance, from 6:00-7:50. I am having my Saturday classes at 3:00 & 4:45 , these will be Blackmore Dance classes this week as TSD is on the Term Break.

6:30-7:45 Ballet Class focus on Pirouettes and turns that travel( Register directly with MPSD or BD)
8:00-9:30 Ballet with Pointework Intermediate (Register directly MPSD or BD)

Friday/The School of Dance
3:45-4:45 Grade 3 Cecchetti Ballet
6:00-7:30 Int/Adv Ballet with Pointe-point shoes optional or you are welcome to change shoes after the barre (Register BD)

Saturday/The School of Dance
1:30-2:45 Teen Ballet 3 (Register directly with TSD)
3:00-4:30 Advanced Open Style Ballet 4 (Register directly with TSD)
4:40-5:50 Advanced Ballet, short centre warm up then Cecchetti Advanced allegro & pointe (Register BD)

Fall Term Week 7

Hi a quick update on the revised schedule. Still adjusting Wednesday! This week we will go from 6-8 at The School of Dance, hope this works. Other classes continue as previously posted.

I am still looking for some of my experienced parade crowd to join with my Mount Pearl SOD group.... rehearsals are Sunday and Monday. The St. John's Parade is on Sunday, November 25.... the Mount Pearl Parade is later.

4:15-5:30 Ballet Grade 3 Cecchetti Exam level (Register BD)
5:45-7:15 Adv Ballet with Pointe-point shoes optional or you are welcome to change shoes after the barre (Register BD)

Saturday/The School of Dance
1:30-2:45 Teen Ballet 3 (Register directly with TSD)
3:00-4:30 Advanced Open Style Ballet 4 (Register directly with TSD)
4:40-5:45 Advanced Ballet! no barre, short centre warm up followed by advanced Cecchetti Advanced Allegro and Pointe/ inquire if intriqued! (Register BD)

Tuition

Listed below are three sets of payment options. Drop In Rates, Set Term Rates and Private Lessons . Please choose the fee schedule that is most appropriate for you. Tuition is non refundable. Class cards expire at the end of the session. If you choose the Set term Rates you are reminded, as in the past, that attendance is the dancer's responsibility. However,all are encouraged to make up missed lessons (if available). There are absolutely no refunds.This is a nine week session, September 10 through to the second week of November when the first Winter Term will begin.

Fees are required at your first class. Cash and cheques only. If you are paying by cheque please make payable to Sandra Blackmore for Blackmore Dance registration.Contact the individual schools to inquire and register for only the classes specified above. It's October and Classes Continue!!!!

Just to let you know there are a couple of adjustments! Wednesday is now Advanced Ballet based on the Cecchetti work.. The Thursday classes continue as they are posted....Elem/Int Ballet followed by Int/Adv ballet with pointework. The Saturday 4:45 class now will have a brief centre warm up followed by both allegro and pointe combination.
