November25... Dec!!!

HI All
What fun it was to walk down the streets of old St. John's as part of the Christmas Parade!!!! It was a great thrill for me .... a reminder of past Parades , successes, disappointments , frustrating westerly wind,smiling crowds, memories of students gone on to grander pursuits ..... and the energy of seeing everyone waiting for "Old Santa To Arrive" and putting on a show ... but also such fun to be there with everyone... especially Amanda And Danielle, my colleagues At MPSD. I was very pleased with the performance and conduct of our Mount Pearl School of Dance entry in the St. John's Downtown Parade today. I think we looked pretty sharp..... but you know me.... "Flags" practice MPSD, 6:15 Friday in preparation for the Mount Pearl Parade! Check with Amanda about 'Rudolph" practices. A HUGH thanks to Wanda for making the Flags happen!

Nutcracker Express: I am continuing with bits & pieces in class this week. By mid week I would like to have the casting finalized. It is looking like the performances will be late afternoon and early evening on the Wednesday & Thursday, December 19 & 20. The week end performance is still on the table. Michele and I will sort that out this week.............
So I am asking everyone to confirm their interest. If you have not already sent along your available and not available times please do so.

Due to " Divas" and the Mount Pearl Parade there are a couple of adjustments this week.
Stretch & Strength 5:45-6:45 . Special drop in price of $ 5.00. This class is followed by a rehearsal for "Flowers" 6:45-7:30. All at The School of Dance, Water Street .
There is no Friday pointe class this week as I will be in Mount Pearl , a run through for the Mount Pearl Parade !

November 19-24

Hi, all classes are as posted below in last week's post. However to to rehearsals for the upcoming "Divas" , there may be some extra time for private lessons and Nutcracker rehearsals on Friday and late Saturday. I will let you know.

Parade practice was great today! Let's hope for a dry day without too much wind. Hope to see some of you along the parade route.

Getting going with the" Nutcracker Express" This week continuing to do " bits & pieces" in class as enchainements. Real rehearsals will begin after we get the St. John's Parade out of the way.

Had a great time at the " Divas" rehearsal this afternoon/evening. Everyone is working hard and, as usual, the show will be a lot of fun.

So more later and.... see you dancing!

P.S. looking for "blue/yellow flower and long white tutus for the Nutcracker Express.

6:00-7:50 Advanced Ballet based on the Cecchetti work(Register BD)

Thursday/Mount Pearl School of Dance
6:30-7:45 Ballet Class Intermediate/Advanced( Register BD)
8:00-9:30 Ballet with Pointework Intermediate (Register MPSD or BD)

Friday/The School of Dance
3:45-5:00 Grade 3 (Private)
6:00-7:30 Int/Adv Ballet with Pointe-point shoes optional or you are welcome to change shoes after the barre (Register BD)

Saturday/The School of Dance
1:30-2:45 Teen Ballet 3 (Register directly with TSD)
3:00-4:30 Advanced Open Style Ballet 4 (Register directly with TSD)
4:45-6:00 Advanced Ballet, short centre warm up then Cecchetti Advanced allegro & pointe (Register BD)

Tuition

Listed below are two sets of payment options, Drop In Rates or Set Term Rates . Please choose the fee schedule that is most appropriate for you. Tuition is non refundable. Class cards expire at the end of this session. If you choose the Set term Rates you are reminded, as in the past, that attendance is each dancer's responsibility. You are encouraged to make up missed lessons (if available). There are absolutely no refunds.This is a nine week session with a Christmas break .

Fees are required at your first class. Cash and cheques only. If you are paying by cheque please make payable to Sandra Blackmore for Blackmore Dance registration.Contact the individual schools to inquire and register for only the classes specified above. Last Week Fall Term!

For those on the term plan this is week 9 and the finish of the Blackmore Dance Fall Term. The Fall to Winter Term starts right away next week. For those registered in Saturday classes at The School of Dance I believe their new term begins on Saturday.

So this week all my classes should continue as previously posted. Parade practices are going.... if there are any experienced Parade performers out there let me know if you could fill in if needed. Also I am preparing for the Nutcracker Express. Looking for dancers so let me know if you might like to be part of this event. If you would send along your availble rehearsal times.
