Summer Session June 30-July 20

Summer Session begins on Saturday, June 30 and continues through to July 20! There are changes..... new classes added...... classes that worked throughout the regular season but now that it is Summertime ....well .... are gone.... so to the schedule .

Saturday/The School of Dance 2:30-4:45 Advanced Open Style Ballet

Monday/Mount Pearl
5:30-7:00 Intermediate Ballet Technique

Tuesday/ Mount Pearl
11:30-1:00 Advanced 2 Syllabus
1:15-2:15 Advanced 2&Diploma Pointe.( At these levels the work is focused on pirouettes & en diagonale . Dancers are encouraged to study the material in regular ballet shoes)
5:30-7:00 Intermediate-Advanced 1 Pointe Technique

Wednesday/The School of Dance
5:30-7:00 Basic/Elementary Ballet
7:00-8:45 Advanced Open Style Ballet

Thursday/Mount Pearl
2:30-4:30 Advanced Ballet with Advanced 2 Syllabus with some Diploma Work with a free barre based on the Cecchetti Traditional.
5:00-6:15 Modern( July 5&12)
6:30-8:00 Ballet Technique based on Advanced 1 Syllabus(July 5&12)
There will be a class on Thursday July 19 in the 5:00-6:15 time slot. Which class?...TBA.

Payment options. Drop In Singles, Multiple Class Cards and Flat Rate Please choose the option that is most appropriate for you. Tuition is non refundable. All class cards expire at the end of this session. No refunds.This is a three week session, June 30 through to July 20.

Spring Into Summer Session Classes June 25-29 ............

Here is the schedule for the remainder of this session. Although the Spring Into Summer Session is ending there will be an additional block of classes. More info about that later in the week! If you have thoughts on classes and times, let me know. I will try to accommodate but remember I am dependent on available studio times. So now to this week........

My lovely and lively lunch companions from last week have already heard this news and now I want to share this with everyone. Chris was offered and has accepted a position with Quantum Sail Design Group located right downtown in Newport, Rhode Island. That means Newport will be home base for the next while. I am excited about the move. As well as all the yachting throughout the area there is plenty of dance near by. Access to NYC is easily done by train and there are good air connections to Toronto. At last a destination and after we finally get settled I am ready to resume work on the big exam!

In the mean time I am still here in St.John's clearing, cleaning, packing boxes and looking forward to seeing you in class !

June 16-22 Spring Into Summer Classes Continue.......

Hi, this week Monday Class will be from 5:30-7:00. Saturday I did mention a later start time but remembered that Wanda's classes begin this week!

All other classes are as previously posted. Dancers may drop in and take any class at any time. For schedule & fee details see last week's post. All are reminded that fees are to be paid at your first class.

Also check out some of the dance clips on YouTube! If you seach acrobatic ballet you will find the amazing Butterfly Lovers video that I spoke about last week. Search grand battement and you will find students from the Shanghai Ballet showing various class work.....very beautifully. Lots more besides. Thanks to Wanda for this tip!

Just to update you Chris & Beyond are anchored in Newport, Rhode Island. Nothing settled yet but I am packing faster......

The Spring term ends tomorrow, Friday, but classes are continuing in a new three week session. The schedule is similar but not exactly as it was throughout the year so please note time and locations.

Fees
Listed below are several payment options. Drop In, Session, Weekly and Private Rates . Please choose the fee schedule that is most appropriate for you. Those with balances remaining on Spring Class Cards may use them towards classes the session. Tuition is non refundable. All class cards expire at the end of this session. If you choose the Session or Weekly Rates you are reminded, as in the past that attendance is the dancer's responsibility, all are encouraged to make up missed lessons (if available). There are absolutely no refunds. Fees are required at your first class. Cash and cheques only. If you are paying by cheque please make payable to Sandra Blackmore. All inquiries by e mail please. Sunday Morning Class!

There will be a class tomorrow Sunday, June 3 , at the usual time and location. Although this is probably the last Sunday Morning Class there are other opportunities during the week to see the Advanced 2 Syllabus work.
